The Role

We are seeking a qualified Tax Analyst to join our team in Irving, Texas. As a Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return, including soliciting information from various parties, preparing supporting workpapers, and maintaining the tax compliance software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments utilizing tax compliance software.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end IAS 12/ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax reporting packages to be sent to the ultimate parent company of the U.S. group.
  • Maintain general knowledge of current federal and state income tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tax saving strategies at the U.S. federal and state levels.
  • Assist with federal, state, and local income and franchise tax audits, appeals, and litigation for the U.S. group.
  • Assist with tax due diligence for U.S. acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations.
  • Support the Canadian Corporate Tax Group.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to field personnel as necessary to help with federal and state franchise and income, sales, use, and other types of state and local tax issues.

Requirements

  • B.S. / B.A. in Accounting.
  • Masters in Taxation desirable but not required.
  • Qualified to sit for the CPA exam preferred or Certified Public Accountant.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a tax department (public accounting or industry).
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details.
  • Requires excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, SAP experience helpful.
