About this Position:

Wells Fargo is in search of a Lead Middleware Solutions Engineer to join our Chief Technology Office. The Chief Technology Office (CTO) is dedicated to delivering engineering solutions encompassing computer hardware, software, networking, middleware, and database tools tailored to fulfill the organization's requirements. Additionally, CTO is responsible for providing innovative software solutions for Wells Fargo's foundational hosting platforms. This diverse portfolio of software solutions is continuously refined to address challenges related to stability, security, scalability, and performance.

In this capacity, the Lead Middleware Solutions Engineer will spearhead the transformation of our Middleware Shared Services Platforms. These platforms encompass intricate solutions and ecosystems that deliver critical functionality for our operations. The successful candidate will oversee the design and execution of software solutions essential for maintaining secure, stable, and resilient middleware services. Direct supervision of middleware software engineering teams will also be a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, influencing the development of applications, network security, database management, operating systems, or web technologies to meet complex business and technical requirements across various departments.
  • Lead the strategic resolution of unique challenges that necessitate comprehensive evaluation across multiple sectors of the enterprise, delivering long-term, large-scale solutions that require creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical thinking.
  • Translate extensive technological expertise and a profound understanding of the organization's tactical and strategic objectives into actionable engineering solutions.
  • Provide vision and guidance to leadership on the implementation of innovative and impactful business solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies, recommending innovations that enhance operational efficiency or provide a competitive edge.
  • Engage strategically with professionals and managers at all levels across the enterprise, serving as an expert advisor to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years of experience in designing and implementing software solutions for secure, stable, and resilient middleware shared services platforms at scale.
  • 5+ years of experience with IBM MQ.
  • 5+ years of experience in authoring and engineering Ansible playbooks.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with Java and Python.
  • 5+ years of experience creating deployment manifests (JSON, YAML).
  • 5+ years of infrastructure experience.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise-wide IT solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing scalable cloud-based web applications using Azure or Google Cloud.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux.
