Job Summary

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and storage of instrumentation for surgery and outside departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing, and storing procedures.
  • Understand principles of sterilization techniques and operate sterilization equipment.
  • Assemble all instruments, trays, and drill drays for operating rooms according to policies and procedures.
  • Perform equipment distribution and routing cleaning and maintenance.
  • Perform crash cart restocking/exchange.
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements:
  • Certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD required.
  • Experience preferred, but not required.
