Job Summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and technical assistance to nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks to prepare for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment by following infection control procedures and reporting any equipment malfunctions.
  • Collect and label specimens, transport them to the lab, and accurately enter data into the computer system.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans under the direction of the nurse.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • CPR/AED/BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
