Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and technical assistance to nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including securing IV pumps, zeroing beds, and updating whiteboards with current information.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment by cleaning equipment, using infection control techniques, and reporting damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Collect and label specimens, and transport them to the lab as indicated.
  • Make rounds on patients and answer call lights promptly, using excellent customer service techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Use technology appropriately to enter data and secure data from the computer system.
  • Manage one's own time and the time of others, prioritizing tasks and making decisions regarding patient care.
Requirements
  • C.N.A. certification (if without High School Diploma or GED)
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
  • CPR/AED/BLS certification (within 14 days)
