Key Responsibilities:

· Production Oversight:

o Supervise the daily activities of the textile sorting facility to achieve production objectives.

o Create and execute production timelines while managing resources to meet efficiency targets.

o Identify and resolve production challenges to minimize operational interruptions.

· Operational Supervision:

o Direct the daily functions of the textile sorting department to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

o Formulate and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance workflow and productivity.

o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance and pinpoint improvement opportunities.

· Process Enhancement:

o Assess existing sorting methodologies and implement modifications to boost productivity and accuracy.

o Design and execute process enhancements to improve the efficiency and precision of textile sorting.

o Remain informed about industry advancements and best practices to perpetually refine operations.

o Collaborate with various departments to integrate enhancements and support overarching organizational objectives.

· Inventory Control and Quality Assurance:

o Oversee inventory levels to ensure a seamless flow of materials through the sorting process while facilitating the movement of goods to appropriate reuse and recycling avenues to maximize revenue streams for mission services.

o Establish and uphold quality control standards to guarantee that sorted textiles meet organizational criteria.

o Promptly address and resolve any quality-related issues to maintain client satisfaction.

o Manage relationships with salvage and recycling partners.

· Team Management:

o Lead and mentor the textile sorting team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.

o Cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace that aligns with the mission and values of Goodwill South Florida.

o Conduct regular team meetings to share objectives, updates, and address any concerns.

o Responsible for staff training and professional development.

· Financial Oversight:

o Assist in the formulation and management of the departmental budget.

o Monitor expenditures and implement cost-reduction strategies where feasible.

o Report on financial outcomes and provide insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience will be taken into account.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the textile recycling or sorting sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop a diverse workforce.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
