About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Power House, a leading environmental construction company in Concord, California.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management, with experience in the construction industry. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and mandates, while promoting a safe working environment for employees.

Job Summary:

This position requires a self-starting administrator and field-ready professional who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with members of various teams such as project management, field operations, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain training and certification files for various databases
  • Conduct Safe Work Observations (SWO) and periodic safety meetings in the field
  • Review initial incident reports from the field and prepare project-related HSE documents
  • Promote data collection associated with near-misses, incidents, stop works, and safe work observations
  • Manage sub-contractor HSE qualification document program and conduct root cause analyses
  • Perform weekly Health and Safety site audits and safe work observations
  • Develop Activity Hazard Analyses/JSA's for project tasks and interact with the Regional Management Team to support the HSE program
  • Provide administrative support for the development and implementation of additional HSE training for superintendents and assist with administrative support for on-going HSE and KPI's metrics

Qualifications:

  • Robust knowledge of HSE construction regulations and understanding of Industrial Hygiene, COC awareness, and related action levels
  • General knowledge of safety management and OSHA general industry safety orders in the civil engineering/environmental remediation construction market sector
  • Familiarity with Behavior-based safety programs and Health and Safety Plans
  • MS Office savvy and comfortable with public speaking (clients, agencies, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects, lead by example, and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and solid organizational skills with a passion for detail

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is up to $100,000 per year, based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
