Shop Foreman

The Shop Foreman is a key member of the Service Department team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective repair and servicing of all vehicles taken in by the department. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to maintain Technician productivity and provide direct on-the-job assistance as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a high level of product and technical knowledge through ongoing training and education.
- Provide technical and administrative training for Technicians in a classroom setting and on-the-job.
- Assist Technicians with diagnosing and repairing vehicles, and review diagnostic results before major repairs are begun.
- Personally quality check and road test vehicles with major repairs, and assist the service sales staff in documenting repair order information.
- Administer pay for the technical staff and attend group morning meetings to ensure proper conduct and motivational impact.
- Meet with group leaders and the Service Manager to review shop productions and discuss administrative and management matters.
- Monitor the manufacturer's technical certification programs and ensure all dealership Technicians have an opportunity to qualify with the highest possible scores.
- Keep shop equipment in safe operating condition and stay informed about new equipment available in the marketplace.
- Coordinate repairs as necessary on the entire physical plant and report any situations or conditions that jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Factory Training Credentials.
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.

Medium/Heavy Work-Will lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time.
This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.
This position involves repetitive motion.
This position requires the ability to talk and hear.
