Job Summary

The Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on assigned projects to ensure timely and profitable completion. This role involves supervising field labor forces, including laborers and carpenters, and demonstrating strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors and on-site employees to promote project morale.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors' progress and quality of work, as well as field employees' activities.
  • Verify subcontractors' contractual requirements before work begins, including certificates of insurance, fully executed subcontracts, and safety programs.
  • Promote safe workplace practices and maintain the job site according to the company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare daily reports on project progress and conduct weekly progress meetings with subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment is available to all employees on site.
  • Ensure the job trailer is supplied with necessary paperwork and incidentals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized site.
  • Maintain the overall construction project schedule and work with the Project Manager on any revisions.
  • Ensure all necessary permits have been obtained.
  • Cooperate with inspection agencies and facilitate their activities as needed.
  • Work with subcontractors to address questions or concerns regarding the scope of work and offer solutions to problems.
  • Maintain positive relationships between the project owner, subcontractors, suppliers, and employees.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction, including supervision of subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with commercial building renovation and construction.
  • OSHA certification and working knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and construction management software.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
