Job Title: Construction Services Inspector

About the Role:

CTL Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Services Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Services Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications
- Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects
- Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility or infrastructure projects
- Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications
- Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals on roadway and bridge projects
- Verify plan quantities and calculations are within bid plans
- Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner
- Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work

Requirements:

- Knowledge of engineering, construction, testing, and inspection principles
- Experience with materials and lab testing
- Experience with quality control testing and compliance specifications
- Experience with standard testing and observation methods
- Understanding of construction or engineering services
- Experience in performing quality control initiatives and performance testing
- Skill in lab reporting, writing reports, and maintaining records
- Ability to manage projects with little/no supervision
- Demonstrated ability of monitoring construction and demolition environments
- Must be able to interact well with others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in external environment conditions during difficult weather
- Ability to provide status updates independently
- Quality-minded and client-focused

Preferred Qualifications:

- Completed INDOT Certified Technician program
- Has a Bachelor's degree in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Technical school or Community college graduate
- Associate Degree with 2 years of additional related work experience or Bachelor's Degree or Certification in related field
- 2+ years of related experience
- Construction inspection experience on INDOT funded projects
- Familiarity with highway construction specifications and previous field experience
- Previous experience working for a testing company
- Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing
- Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections, and/or CWI/NDT inspectors
