Position Overview: The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated full-time Research Assistant Professor within the appointment stream.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant Engineering discipline and demonstrate research interests pertinent to head and neck, otology, neurotology, and/or auditory disorders. This role emphasizes research initiatives aimed at innovating medical devices and therapeutics in the field of Otolaryngology. Candidates with a focus on Biodesign methodology will be given strong preference.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Principal Investigator in various research endeavors.
- Collaborating with faculty at the Pittsburgh Hearing Research Center to advance research projects.
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of proposals for external research funding.
- Conducting and reporting on research projects, as well as disseminating research findings.
Skills Required: Candidates should exhibit:
- Proven analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- A solid understanding of standard laboratory practices, policies, and equipment.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, suitable for diverse audiences and technical publications.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
