At the Police Executive Research Forum, we are seeking a visionary Senior Law Enforcement Leader to spearhead our community safety initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to reduce gun violence and other violent crimes in partnership with the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement evidence-based solutions to disrupt violence and reduce gun crime.
  • Lead the development of holistic, community-led approaches to public safety, emphasizing accountability and transparency from the command staff to the rank and file.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with community-based organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and advocacy groups to enhance safety in high-crime neighborhoods.
  • Ensure that SPD operations align with city objectives, the law, service equity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and professionalism within the department, prioritizing officer well-being and diversity across all ranks.
