Police Chief Role Overview

The Police Executive Research Forum is seeking a seasoned law enforcement professional to serve as its Chief of Police. This leadership position requires an individual with extensive experience in police administration, strategic planning, and community engagement.

Estimated Salary Range: $227,234.80 - $304,497.44 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

This is a senior-level position that demands strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to make informed decisions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in criminal justice, police science, or a related field, along with active POST certification or the ability to obtain it within two years of appointment.

A Master's degree is highly desirable, and at least one year of experience at the rank of Chief of Police or Assistant/Deputy Chief is required. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate a stable employment history and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Car Allowance: $380.00 Monthly or use of a City vehicle.
