About the Trauma Surgeon Role

The Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville is seeking a highly skilled trauma surgeon to join our team at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate will have completed general surgery training at an accredited program and be board certified/eligible in surgery, with additional expertise in trauma surgery and critical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert care to trauma patients in a fast-paced environment
  • Train and mentor residents and students in general and trauma surgery
  • Contribute to the development of a trauma surgery practice with a focus on research and academic productivity

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successful completion of a trauma surgery/critical care fellowship program
  • Expert skills in trauma surgery and critical care
  • Strong interest in teaching and academic productivity
