Job Summary

The Admissions Specialist plays a vital role in the Intake Team, responsible for coordinating the admissions process. This includes handling inquiry calls, processing referrals, and communicating with referral sources and customers. Additional responsibilities include insurance verification, patient registration, and other non-clinical duties as assigned by admissions leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently handle inquiry calls and process referrals for possible admission
  • Communicate with referral sources and customers who present for assessment
  • Verify insurance and precertification
  • Process patient registration and vitals
  • Conduct belongings searches and schedule evaluations
  • Monitor bed board and perform other non-clinical duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, mental health, or a related field
  • Minimum one year of experience in a human service, social service, psychiatric, or mental health setting
  • Certification in CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, and basic chemical dependency
