Inpatient After Hours Coordinator Level II

The Inpatient After Hours Coordinator Level II is a critical role within MedPOINT Management, responsible for ensuring seamless patient care coordination during non-traditional hours. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Generate authorization numbers and communicate with vendors as directed by After Hours Nurse Case Managers.
- Assist with repatriation of patients from out-of-network facilities to contracted facilities.
- Verify patient eligibility using various systems and ensure contracted hospitalists/specialists are utilized for admissions, transfers, and repatriations.
- Support After Hours Nurse Case Managers by calling hospitalists/specialists, sending transfer packets, and following up on bed status.
- Call hospitals to request clinical reviews or medical records and archive them into EZ CAP.
- Exhibit consistent behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by After Hours Lead/Senior Nurse.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a managed care setting, medical office, or facility setting with demonstration of medical administration duties.
- Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology and/or experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Intermediate ability to multitask and intermediate Microsoft Outlook proficiency.
- Intermediate demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills.
