About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Procedures: Perform computed tomography procedures utilizing General Electric Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 Computerized Tomography Systems according to established operating procedures, clinical protocols, and imaging techniques.
  • Image Processing: Perform computerized post-processing of images using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest under investigation.
  • Customer Service: Address minor customer complaints, tactfully resolve complaints, and refer difficult complaints or sensitive issues to higher authority.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate the scheduling of inpatients and outpatients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment performance.
  • Patient Care: Obtain patient history and other relevant clinical information, document all patient information on appropriate forms in preparation for review and dictation by a radiologist.
  • Contrast Administration: Start IVs using appropriate technique, prepare and administer contrast material, and monitor patient condition during the CT procedure.
Requirements
  • Education: 12-24 months experience in radiology, graduate of Radiologic Technology program, and 2 hours of stroke education per year.
  • Skills: Knowledge and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures, able to perform all routine CT procedures, good oral and written communication skills, and computer competence.
  • Certifications: ARRT Registry (RT), IDNS License, CPR, IV Certification within 3 months of date of hire, and CT Registration within 6 months of date of hire.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Able to respond to requests to work on short notice, flexible in starting times to meet demand, and able to transport, move, and lift patients.
  • Environmental Factors: Exposed to infectious diseases, must take call, willing to work overtime when requested, and musculoskeletal hazard from large amount of job lifting and repetitive motions.
