Job Summary:
Under the supervision of senior staff, we are seeking an experienced Architectural Ironworker Leadman to oversee the assembly, erection, and repair of architectural metal work in buildings and other structures. The successful candidate will direct the work of assigned journeymen and helpers, ensuring high-quality results and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of assigned Architectural and Structural Ironworkers in the assembly, erection, fabrication, and repair of architectural metal work.
- Participate in planning and organizing work tasks, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting deadlines.
- Inspect work progress, provide guidance and training, and enforce safety protocols and best practices.
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including drills, rivets, reams, and welding machines, to assemble and fabricate metalwork according to plans and specifications.
- Load and unload materials, and erect and dismantle scaffolding and rigging as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff, including requisitioning tools and materials, and conducting work in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, and two years of experience as a Journeyman Architectural Ironworker, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Considerable knowledge of architectural ironworking, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to review and code timesheets, and maintain online vacation schedules.
- Ability to plan and supervise the work of others, work from sketches and specifications, and perform oxyacetylene and electric arc welding.
