Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in the CT Department at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a Computed Tomography Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging studies, applying principles of radiation protection, and exercising professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging duties as assigned, including positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors.
  • Utilize computer systems to record patient status and function proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality.
  • Assist physicians in performing imaging studies and prepare contrast media for administration to patients.
  • Maintain technical imaging equipment and report any malfunctions or housekeeping issues to the appropriate person.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and neat, and maintain an adequate inventory of necessary supplies.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
  • Current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
  • Advanced CT certification required (open to new graduates).
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
  • CPR training required and BLS training recommended.
