Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Care Manager to join our team at Cedarhurst of Arnold community. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for ensuring the success and coordination of our community care staff and resident experience, driving excellence in every aspect of our care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident-Centered Programming: Develop and facilitate resident-directed programming to meet the assessed needs, interests, and capabilities of our residents, under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Executive Director.
  • Needs Assessment and Service Planning: Assess each resident's needs upon move-in and prepare and incorporate the activities goals into the residents' individualized service plan.
  • Staff Coordination and Support: Assist in the coordination of, and participate in, resident orientation and identification of potential changes or concerns within the individualized service plan of each resident.
  • Leadership and Education: Provide leadership and education to care staff and families in relation to the resident's individualized service plan, as well as best practices for caring for people with dementia.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor staff and volunteers to provide specific care training to meet residents' needs and ensure resident care programs are implemented.
  • Scheduling and Staffing: Coordinate schedules for care staff, provide hands-on care as needed, and ensure adequate care staff coverage.
  • Staff Development and Training: Organize and conduct care staff orientation, mentorship, and ongoing training.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure excellent resident care within all care levels in the community.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Participate in writing monthly calendars and/or newsletters as requested, encourage and assist with resident activities, and conduct and/or participate in the interview and onboarding process with care staff.
  • Performance Management: Provide input on care staff performance and coordinate with DON for delivery of performance reviews.
  • Training and Development: Implement new hire orientation and training for care staff, assess and complete overall nursing day-to-day duties on scheduled floor nurse shifts.
  • Resident Advocacy: Promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of each resident and strive to maintain the ultimate goal of returning the resident to their maximum level of self-care and independence, when possible.
  • Advance Directives and Communication: Understand and follow the resident's Advance Directives, ensure effective communication with residents' families concerning residents' care, and promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of each resident.
  • Teamwork and Conflict Resolution: Work well with others, take direction from management, and take initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate degree and 2+ years of experience preferred, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications and Training: CNA or CMT certification preferred, CPR and BLS certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR-related systems if applicable.
