Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and empathetic personal support caregiver to provide assistance to an adult with high-functioning autism. The ideal candidate will possess experience in supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and a heartfelt commitment to fostering positive change. Key responsibilities include helping with financial management, grocery shopping, meal preparation, community engagement, and exploring new culinary ideas. The caregiver will also participate in outdoor activities and walks with the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with financial planning and budgeting.
- Support grocery shopping and meal preparation activities.
- Guide in selecting and preparing nutritious recipes.
- Accompany the client during outdoor activities.
- Engage in community events and social outings.
- Create a supportive environment to enhance life skills development.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or similar conditions is preferred.
- Skilled in cooking and meal planning.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Successful completion of a Level 2 Background Check.
Work Schedule:
- This is a part-time position.
- Availability on Wednesdays and Sundays is required.
- Shifts are 5 hours in duration.
