State Police Trooper Trainee

As a State Police Trooper Trainee, you will be responsible for:

• Receiving formal and field instruction in police science courses, including motor vehicle law, laws, techniques and mechanics of arrest, and more
• Participating in physical training and self-defense tactics
• Developing oral communication skills and public speaking abilities
• Learning to deal effectively with miscreants and develop effective courses of action in emergency situations

To be eligible for this position, you must:

• Have reached your 21st birthday
• Have received a high school diploma or GED
• Pass a Physical Ability test prior to appointment
• Establish residence within Connecticut just prior to completion of the State Police Training Academy
• Possess and retain a current Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's license during employment
