The RHY Outreach Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting runaway, homeless, and street-involved youth. This position at Kenosha Human Development Services focuses on assisting these young individuals in their journey towards stable housing and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in community-based outreach and education targeting youth.
- Develop and distribute essential care packages for vulnerable youth.
- Inform the community about resources and services available for young people.
- Build partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations to support at-risk youth.
- Facilitate access to a variety of services tailored for youth.
- Gather and assess data using specified systems.
- Work alongside the Crisis team to identify and support youth experiencing crises.
- Provide ongoing support to youth and their families during challenging times.
- Conduct assessments and facilitate access to counseling services.
- Participate in relevant meetings and contribute to community initiatives.
- Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience in positively engaging with youth.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and accept constructive feedback.
- Openness to learning and adapting to new situations.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
