Description:

The Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. (CIFC) is seeking to hire a dedicated Child Development Associate (CDA) Specialist for our Early Learning Programs.

Overview:
This role is pivotal in assisting 1-2 classrooms with the planning and execution of daily routines, educational curriculum, meal preparation, and various activities tailored for preschool and infant/toddler children (ages 6 months to 5 years).

The CDA Specialist will support a classroom environment comprising 14 to 20 Head Start/Preschool children and/or 7-8 Infant/Toddler children.

This position primarily aids in fulfilling the essential functions of the Head Start program while also performing additional tasks as required.

Reporting Structure:
This role operates under the guidance of 1-2 assigned Lead Teachers and is overseen by the Education Services Professional.


Unit: Early Learning
Immediate Supervisor: Education Services Professional
Classification: Standard / Part-Time (Hourly)

Schedule: 1:45 PM - 5:45 PM (Monday - Friday)

Status: Non-Exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Entry-level position; prior experience in babysitting or childcare is preferred.
- Basic computer skills are necessary (e.g., email, word processing, internet navigation).
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent (completed or currently enrolled) is required; Early Childhood Education Credits are preferred; Associate and/or Bachelor degrees are also advantageous.

Health Requirements:
- Recent documentation confirming freedom from communicable diseases (e.g., TB and COVID).
- Recent fit-for-duty examination.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
