This role is responsible for providing support to patients and healthcare teams in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including providing personal care, hygiene, and physical comfort.
- Perform data entry, unit secretarial functions, and equipment processing to support the smooth operation of the unit.
- Provide patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care and document relevant patient data in accordance with work unit standards.
- Assist with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients, including inventorying and storing patient belongings and providing patient with relevant personal care/comfort items.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to hospital safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
- Perform receptionist and support duties at the assigned unit, including handling incoming and outgoing communications and greeting and assisting visitors.
- Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (or military medical specialty training)
- Six months related work experience preferred
- Experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Prefer experience in a specialty unit
- Preference is given toward applicants with experience as both a Certified Nursing Assistant and Unit Coordinator
