Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Bowling Green, Kentucky. As a Technician in Charge, you will be responsible for assisting and training technicians, providing customer service, and overseeing parts distribution and inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and train technicians as needed
  • Provide customer service to daily customers
  • Give feedback to the Service Manager on employee performance
  • Oversee parts distribution and inventory
  • Shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, and payroll administration
Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four (4) years or more Relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
Additional Requirements
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License and the ability to meet Ryder's driving qualifications
  • Must meet at minimum Tech II up to Tech IV qualifications plus a minimum of 6 months supervisory or training experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
  • Must be proficient in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Unit utilization procedures
