The Educational Diagnostician plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of students with special needs. As a key member of the Special Programs team, this individual will work closely with regional leaders, campus leaders, parents, and educators to maximize student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Eligibility: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services.
- IEP Development: Collaborate with special education teachers to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Compliance and Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork, including ARDs and IEPs, to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Student Support: Provide critical student instruction and support to students with special needs, including those with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.
- Functional Behavioral Assessments: Conduct functional behavioral assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors and develop effective interventions.
- Professional Development: Provide guidance and support to campus staff on academic and behavioral interventions, including Tiers II and III.
- Education: Master's degree in Special Education or Education from an accredited college or university.
- Certification: Texas Educational Diagnostician Certificate required.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a campus Educational Diagnostician preferred.
IDEA Public Schools offers a competitive salary range of $70,500 to $82,100, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, disability insurance, and a 403(b) plan.
