Job Title: Junior Transport NOC Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Transport NOC Engineer to join our team at NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IP routing and Ethernet switching solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implement IP Routing and Ethernet Switching Solutions: Utilize your expertise in network engineering to design and implement robust IP routing and Ethernet switching solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Configure and Manage Palo Alto Firewalls: Configure and manage Palo Alto Firewalls to ensure robust network security and compliance.
  • Collaborate with ISPs and Telecommunications Providers: Collaborate with ISPs and telecommunications providers to manage transport networks utilizing Ciena, Nokia, and other technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Network Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform Network Assessments and Develop Strategies: Perform network assessments and develop strategies for improvement and scaling as necessary.
  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems with business applications.
  • Document Network Configurations and Procedures: Document network configurations, standards, and procedures for future reference and training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology: A bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology is required.
  • 3+ Years of Experience in Network Engineering: 3+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on IP routing and Ethernet switching is required.
  • Proven Experience with Palo Alto Firewall Configuration: Proven experience with Palo Alto Firewall configuration and management is required.
  • Strong Understanding of ISP Transport Technologies: A strong understanding of ISP transport technologies and related platforms such as Ciena and Nokia is required.
  • Familiarity with Passive Optical Networking (PON) Technologies: Familiarity with Passive Optical Networking (PON) technologies is a plus.
  • Networking Certifications: Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
