About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Surgical Technician to join our team at Children's Health (Dallas). As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during cardiac surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Prepare the sterile field for surgical procedures by securing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment based on the surgeon's preference cards.
  • Assist the surgical team with cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization after each procedure.
  • Participate in the surgical time out to ensure proper review of the surgical consent, patient identification, and understanding of patient allergies.
  • Monitor the sterile field to prevent breaches in aseptic technique and maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
  • Assist with cleaning and preparing the operating room for the next scheduled procedure.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of job-related experience required.
  • At least 1 year of Cardiac Scrub Tech experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required.
  • Current Surgical Technologist certification issued by an approved organization required.
