Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our cardiovascular diagnostics team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and communicating with cardiologists to discuss patient studies and answer questions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiograms and obtain accurate quality scans of the heart
  • Communicate with cardiologists to discuss patient studies and answer questions
  • Correlate patient diagnosis to assist with scanning focus
  • Responsible for maintaining department equipment, documentation, and exam rooms related to echocardiography
  • Completes necessary entries in Cerner to enable accurate ordering, processing, and charging of patient services
  • Maintains proper functioning of echo cardiography equipment and system workstations
  • Maintains documentation of echo studies performed and oversees retention of the data according to Advocate policy
Requirements
  • Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or The Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiac Sonographer
  • At least 5 years' experience doing echocardiograms
  • Computer literacy and high proficiency in math skills
  • Ability to perform adult echocardiograms, TEEs, and stress echos
  • Experience with digital sonogram equipment
  • Current CPR certification
Working Conditions

This position requires on-call duty on a rotational basis and the ability to report to the hospital within 30 minutes of call-in. The ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance is also required.
