Team Overview:
The AI Foundations team plays a pivotal role in realizing our AI vision at Capital One. Our initiatives encompass the entire research lifecycle, from collaborating with academic institutions to developing production systems. We partner with product, technology, and business leaders to integrate cutting-edge AI advancements into our operations.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that revolutionize customer interactions with their finances.
  • Utilize a comprehensive technology stack, including Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, Lightning, and VectorDBs, to extract insights from extensive datasets.
  • Develop AI foundation models through all stages of the process, from design to training, evaluation, validation, and deployment.
  • Conduct impactful applied research to incorporate the latest AI innovations into next-generation customer experiences.
  • Employ your interpersonal skills to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business objectives.

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in training large language models and contributing to significant research publications.
  • Proven ability to guide technical teams in large-scale model training.
  • Familiarity with optimization frameworks and techniques for enhancing model performance.
