Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Building Automation Systems Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves extensive travel and is integral to providing innovative solutions in the realm of healthy, safe, and sustainable building technologies.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HVAC or a related field with a focus on building automation controls.
  • Hands-on experience in HVAC systems.
  • Proficient in testing sensors and devices, as well as performing calibration tasks.
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment, including multi-meters and thermosets.
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP and routers.
  • Knowledge of networking and IT principles.
  • Experience in customer interactions is advantageous.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, commission, and recommission customer systems utilizing DDC technology; troubleshoot and resolve mid-level system issues.
  • Provide effective solutions to system challenges, either through direct troubleshooting or by assisting colleagues.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and various trades to ensure optimal system operation; deliver comprehensive project completion on smaller projects.
  • Manage unitary systems, small AHUs, and front-end operations effectively.
  • Complete all necessary commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages.
  • Oversee total system operation, including controllers and sensors, while coordinating with customer IT personnel.
  • Calibrate systems using basic electronic testing equipment and conduct site-specific training for owners/operators.

Essential Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Electrical systems, field controls, BMS, building automation, HVAC, computer, and networking capabilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and project management skills.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Candidates must have a vehicle for travel to job sites, with reimbursement for daily expenses, including tolls and mileage.
