About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team at Fresh Thyme Farmers Market. Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of bakery aisles, storage areas, and workspaces.
  • Assist customers with purchases, provide product information, and promote sales.
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor point-of-purchase signs and maintain a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, and promotional materials.
  • Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and hand trucks.
  • Prepare various bakery foods, including using ingredients and cooking times.
  • Participate in pre-inventory preparation, including backstock and tagging products.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and preparation.
  • Walk the department regularly to ensure a clean and organized appearance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency degree.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of grocery retail experience in bakery department processes and procedures.
  • Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain excellent customer service, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and work in a cross-functional team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and days as business dictates.
  • Familiarity with Health Department guidelines and regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
  • Knowledge of the baking cycle and baking terminology preferred.
