Job Summary:The Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will provide education and support to pregnant and postpartum women, helping them to overcome common breastfeeding challenges and achieve their breastfeeding goals. This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours of work per week, with a focus on providing high-quality support to our clients.
Responsibilities:- Provide breastfeeding education and support to pregnant and postpartum women
- Conduct home visits and provide one-on-one support to new mothers
- Lead breastfeeding support groups and provide education to groups of new mothers
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other community resources to ensure comprehensive support for new mothers
- Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and outcomes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a breastfeeding peer counselor or in a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English and Spanish
