We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. As a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting new mothers in their breastfeeding journey.

Job Summary:

The Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will provide education and support to pregnant and postpartum women, helping them to overcome common breastfeeding challenges and achieve their breastfeeding goals. This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours of work per week, with a focus on providing high-quality support to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide breastfeeding education and support to pregnant and postpartum women
  • Conduct home visits and provide one-on-one support to new mothers
  • Lead breastfeeding support groups and provide education to groups of new mothers
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other community resources to ensure comprehensive support for new mothers
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and outcomes
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a breastfeeding peer counselor or in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
