Position Overview:

As a key member of the Information Security division, the Lead Engineer for Cloud Security and Code Integrity will play a pivotal role in enhancing and sustaining the Cloud Security initiative, focusing particularly on the security of Infrastructure as Code. This role will collaborate closely with teams in Application Security, Cloud Engineering/Operations, and Security Engineering to ensure the secure deployment of private cloud resources through automated processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold effective controls within CI/CD pipelines utilized for cloud resource deployment, ensuring secure design and implementation.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of Infrastructure as Code scripts and repositories to pinpoint potential security vulnerabilities or deviations from coding best practices.
  • Deploy and manage tools for automated security scanning and analysis of Infrastructure as Code, containers, and serverless architectures.
  • Analyze security scan outcomes and collaborate with Application Development and Cloud Engineering teams to prioritize remediation efforts, assess false positives, and evaluate mitigating strategies.
  • Generate and monitor regular reports and metrics on security vulnerabilities, coding flaws, and exposure risks.
  • Provide mentorship and training to various teams within the organization on secure development practices and cloud security standards.
  • Stay informed on CVEs, industry trends, and contribute to ongoing improvements.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, IT Governance, IT Compliance, and other essential stakeholders on specific initiatives to ensure adherence to relevant regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cloud and Code Security.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Cloud technologies, specifically with AWS and Azure.
  • 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure as Code and securing automated cloud deployment pipelines.
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing Cloud Security and Infrastructure as Code scanning tools.
  • 5+ years of experience in reviewing and analyzing vulnerabilities, including those related to cloud environments, and tracking their resolution.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficient in developing Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, or HashiCorp.
  • Expertise in securing Infrastructure as Code scripts and cloud resource deployments.
  • Deep understanding of major Cloud platforms, their resources, common misconfigurations/vulnerabilities, and secure deployment practices.
  • Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) technologies such as Wiz, Prisma, Lacework, Orca, and Compute Security tools like Twistlock and Aquasec.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), secure architecture, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Experience in integrating security within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Developer IDE tools and Source Code Management platforms.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate OWASP Top 10 Cloud Native Application Security Risks through coding patterns.
  • Experience in developing controls to secure Cloud-native applications.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Security, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience in Application Development and Security Engineering or Security Architecture.
  • Familiarity with securing applications developed in C#, Java, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, React, REST).
  • Experience in developing Cloud Native applications.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $143,000 to $238,500. Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as relevant skills, prior experience, education, and demonstrated performance.
