Job Title: Histologist I

Actalent is seeking a skilled Histologist I to join our team in Rochester, New York. As a Histologist I, you will play a critical role in assisting pathologists in receiving a diagnosis by processing and staining tissue for examination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare gross surgical specimens for examination
  • Maintain positive identification of all specimens throughout the process cycle
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure the reliability of all results
  • Maintain and compile necessary records and reports
  • Ensure proper maintenance and documentation of all instrument checks and preventative/routine maintenance
Requirements:
  • NYS Licensure in any clinical capacity (clinical lab technician/technologist, histotechnician/technologist, medical technician/technologist, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare gross surgical specimens
  • Experience in staining histologic sections
  • Competency in preparing special stains and solutions for differential staining
  • Record keeping and reporting
  • Quality control procedures
  • Instrument maintenance and checks
