We are seeking a highly skilled Histologist I to join our team at Actalent. As a Histologist I, you will play a critical role in assisting pathologists in receiving a diagnosis by processing and staining tissue samples.

• Preparation of Gross Surgical Specimens: Prepare and process gross surgical specimens for examination and diagnosis.
• Tissue Staining and Processing: Stain and process histologic sections to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Quality Control and Maintenance: Perform quality control procedures to ensure the reliability of all results and maintain and document instrument checks and preventative maintenance.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain and compile necessary records and reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

• Education and Certification: Must be NYS Certified.
• Technical Skills: Ability to prepare gross surgical specimens, experience in staining histologic sections, competency in preparing special stains and solutions for differential staining, record keeping and reporting, quality control procedures, and instrument maintenance and checks.
• Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, effective communication skills, and time management.
