Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms and public areas in a hotel setting. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, and restocking amenities.
  • Guest Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Housekeeping Operations: Assist with housekeeping operations, including restocking supplies, cleaning public areas, and maintaining the housekeeping cart.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other housekeeping team members to ensure that all guest rooms are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management to ensure that all needs are met and that any issues are resolved promptly.

Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary school degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous work experience in a service industry, preferably in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Skills: Ability to comprehend and use basic language, either written or spoken, to communicate information and ideas. Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time. Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists. Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear. Ability to obtain impressions through the eyes. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders. Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds / 25 kilograms. Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion. Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of lifestyle hotel products and guest services. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
