Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive base salary, ranging from $250,000 to $350,000 per year, depending on experience, plus incentive compensation based on productivity and quality measures. Our benefits package includes medical, vision, dental (including orthodontia), 401k with employer match, and CME allowance. Additionally, we offer generous paid time off, including vacation, holidays, sick time, and CME.
Job Description
The Chairperson will be responsible for both administrative and clinical duties at our teaching facility, which offers Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine Residency programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing physician and 3 years of related experience in a healthcare service organization. Board Certification in Internal Medicine is required, and Specialty Board Certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Medical Officer in overseeing and managing all clinical functions
- Promote the integration of clinical programs and specialty services within the Department
- Provide clinical care in Physicians specialty
- Serve as a role model for the department by demonstrating institutional citizenship through participation in governance and committee activities
- Lead the department in strategic planning to improve the quality of clinical, educational, and research programs
Requirements & Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. required
- Active Connecticut License (unrestricted) or ability to obtain quickly
- Active CT Controlled Substance and DEA Registration
- Current Board Certification in Internal Medicine required
- Current Specialty Board Certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years as a practicing physician
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience and demonstrated leadership within a healthcare service organization
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
- Experience with peer review, utilization and quality management, and physician practice management preferred
