QC Specialist

The Lab Technician is a key member of the Port Neal Complex team, responsible for providing analytical and environmental chemistry support in a safe and cost-effective manner. This role ensures team member safety, minimizes costs, optimizes production, and maintains compliance with all applicable regulations.

• Provide competent and timely diagnosis, analysis, and advice on plant-wide problems by applying expertise in chemistry, laboratory techniques, and knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
• Ensure all product shipments meet the appropriate specifications.
• Complete routine water, process, and product analyses, recording and communicating results accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Conduct non-routine analyses as needed to solve plant problems.
• Support and encourage safe operating procedures and techniques in the laboratory, promoting the safety program.
• Maintain effective communications and working relationships within the laboratory and other departments.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry/Science or related degree preferred.
• Experience in a lab setting required, with ability to perform chemical analyses in accordance with approved methods and professional techniques.
• Working in the plant process area is required.
• Rotating shift and extra hours of work may be required to accommodate the needs of a 24-hour continuous process manufacturing plant.
