Key Responsibilities

Role Overview: This role encompasses essential reliability engineering functions, focusing on the strategic enhancement and optimization of asset management strategies through loss reduction, risk assessment, and lifecycle asset management. The individual will also lead root cause analysis for operational failures and assist in prioritizing maintenance work orders based on risk and significance. Collaborating closely with the client's reliability team, the selected candidate is expected to drive immediate improvements in operational efficiency by prioritizing actions aimed at maximizing asset availability.

Core duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Delivering professional engineering services in collaboration with fellow team members and client representatives on various projects.
  • Facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) teams, utilizing the Apollo RCFA methodology when applicable.
  • Investigating mechanical failures and proposing corrective measures.
  • Leading Reliability-Focused Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams as necessary.
  • Continuing education in vibration, thermography, and lubrication to suggest enhancements to existing practices.
  • Identifying and creating work-sharing packages for interoffice support, providing leadership to ensure effective communication and execution.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.

Certification: Professional Engineering registration is highly desirable.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience in reliability engineering is required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • In-depth experience with rotating machinery reliability (including pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, agitators, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, and couplings).
  • Proven expertise in utilizing advanced reliability tools such as RCM, RCA, RBI, and FMEA.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Technologies (including vibration analysis, lubricant and fluid analysis, infrared thermography, alignment, balancing, and other NDT technologies relevant to rotating machinery and fixed equipment).
  • Extensive experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like Maximo and SAP Maintenance Module.
  • Understanding of human factors in reliability engineering.
  • Ability to effectively plan and schedule routine and shutdown maintenance tasks.
  • General knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, prevention strategies, and materials selection.
  • Capability to manage reliability programs throughout the entire equipment lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in estimating task completion accurately.
  • Ability to develop design criteria and scope of work.
  • Providing outage QA/QC support to ensure adherence to precision maintenance execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Microstation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to cultivate virtual team relationships and provide interoffice execution leadership and support.

  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
