Job Overview:

The Support Services Driver-Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role within the Support Services Team, providing essential transportation and customer service assistance to facilitate the effective functioning of the agency's programs. This includes support for the Behavioral Health Department, Family & Community Programs, and Early Childhood initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transport children and other passengers safely to and from educational institutions and various events.
  2. Maintain the bus in a clean and mechanically sound condition at all times.
  3. Ensure the safety of all passengers while adhering to the agency's transportation policies and regulations.
  4. Assist children with boarding and disembarking from the bus as necessary.
  5. Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle before and after each route.
  6. Ensure all passengers are securely fastened in their seats and provide assistance as needed during transit.
  7. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
  8. Communicate daily with the Supervisor regarding scheduling, issues, and vehicle maintenance.
  9. Keep accurate records related to vehicle usage and transportation activities.

Additional Duties:

  1. Answer phone calls, take messages, and redirect inquiries appropriately.
  2. Schedule appointments and manage calendars effectively.
  3. Provide information and assistance to clients and visitors regarding agency programs and services.
  4. Handle administrative tasks such as processing mail and maintaining supply inventories.
  5. Assist with the organization and cleanliness of the facility.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of three years of driving experience as a licensed driver is essential. Experience in administrative roles, particularly in clinical settings, is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Flexibility to work a varied daytime schedule.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Physical capability to assist young children and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with children and parents effectively.
  • Safety-conscious mindset while operating the agency vehicle.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and awareness of surroundings.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and maintain punctuality.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid MN Driver's License with a clean driving record. First Aid, CPR, and Child Passenger Safety certifications are required, with training provided for certification acquisition.
