Position Summary:

Nurturing and encouraging compassionate, responsible, and contributing citizens is the mission of the Juneau School District. As an Elementary School counselor, you will engage in a comprehensive, developmental counseling program to assist all students in developing academic, career, and personal/social competencies.


Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers and specialists in team and community building planning and activities.
Develop and implement a comprehensive counseling program that meets the needs of all students.
Provide individual and group counseling to students, as needed.
Work with teachers to develop and implement strategies to support student success.

Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
Valid Alaska Type C certificate with a counseling endorsement, or ability to secure certificate upon hire.
Experience working in an elementary school setting, preferred.
Experience/background in counseling, preferred.
