Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will assist in the assessment and treatment of patients under the supervision of the Physician by performing the following tasks:

  • Conduct patient interviews and record vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient assessments.
  • Perform phlebotomy and manage laboratory processing; conduct diagnostic tests and communicate results to patients.
  • Position patients appropriately and arrange instruments and equipment for procedures.
  • Provide instruments and materials to the Physician as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments.
  • Collaborate with fellow medical assistants in delivering patient care and performing phlebotomy.
  • Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Schedule patients for tests by contacting medical facilities or departments.
  • Administer injections or treatments and conduct routine laboratory tests.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, perform administrative tasks, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Input data into the computer system to maintain accurate office and patient records.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid Medical Assistant Certification.
  • One to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with EMR software and Outlook Programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for addressing groups of customers or colleagues.
  • Capability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, and communicate effectively; occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
