Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will assist in the assessment and treatment of patients under the supervision of the Physician by performing the following tasks:
- Conduct patient interviews and record vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient assessments.
- Perform phlebotomy and manage laboratory processing; conduct diagnostic tests and communicate results to patients.
- Position patients appropriately and arrange instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Provide instruments and materials to the Physician as needed.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments.
- Collaborate with fellow medical assistants in delivering patient care and performing phlebotomy.
- Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment.
- Schedule patients for tests by contacting medical facilities or departments.
- Administer injections or treatments and conduct routine laboratory tests.
- Manage appointment scheduling, perform administrative tasks, and complete necessary documentation.
- Input data into the computer system to maintain accurate office and patient records.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid Medical Assistant Certification.
- One to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with EMR software and Outlook Programs.
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills for addressing groups of customers or colleagues.
- Capability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, and communicate effectively; occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be required.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
