Job Title: Senior IMS Systems Programmer

Ensono is seeking a highly skilled Senior IMS Systems Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our Mainframe IMS Systems team, you will be responsible for providing premium software support and services to our mainframe clients as they relate to Mainframe IMS systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill customer service requests for mainframe z/OS customers in a timely manner as they pertain to IMS and related OEM software products.
  • Provide primary upgrade support for IMS and products related to IMS.
  • Follow procedures for installing OEM software products efficiently and according to best practices and Ensono standards.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new Ensono clients with respect to IMS and related OEM software products.
  • Adhere to a schedule that efficiently manages resources and allows timely implementations.
  • Follow ITSM change control procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IMS for administration and systems programming support (CA, BMC and IBM tools for IMS is a plus).
  • Extensive experience with the following:
    • Recent installation and customization of IMS subsystems (TM, DB,DBCTL)
    • Troubleshooting and solving of IMS System and database issues
    • Troubleshooting and solving IMS software related issues
    • Working knowledge of Common Service layer
    • Solid working knowledge of DBRC
    • Strong knowledge of SMP/E and its role in the installation process
    • Base knowledge in Unix System Services(USS) related to IMS requirements in USS
    • Strong JCL skills
    • Knowledge in best practices of software management, maintenance and documentation
    • Configure and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment
    • Develop innovation, strategies, processes and best practices in IMS systems programming
    • Ability to work with clients as an Ensono ambassador for IMS related matters
