We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Transfusion and Oncology Specialist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Outpatient Infusion Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe administration of parenteral therapy to adult outpatients.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to established nursing standards and protocols.
- Administer medication and IV solutions according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Provide patient and family education, assessing learning needs and documenting effectiveness.
- Participate in unit-based activities and committees, attending staff development programs and maintaining professional certifications.
- Assume charge RN responsibilities, demonstrating independent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned, fulfilling all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Current CT RN license required; BSN preferred.
- Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Oncology, and IV Therapy preferred.
- Oncology Chemotherapy and Biological Therapy Certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support Certification required.
- Excellent IV insertion skills and working knowledge of chemotherapeutic agents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close team, under the guidance of the Medical Director.
This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The working environment is generally pleasant, with little to no potential for occupational risk.
