Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated Intelligence Community Credentialed Background Investigator to fulfill a vital role in ensuring the integrity of personnel requiring access to sensitive U.S. Government information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough background investigations to assess the employment suitability of individuals.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with subjects, sources, and record providers.
  • Engage in face-to-face interviews with the subject of the investigation, as well as their neighbors, employers, friends, and family.
  • Perform comprehensive record searches at various institutions, including police agencies, courthouses, educational and financial entities, and medical facilities.
  • Document all findings in a clear and concise report using an authorized government computer system.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Possess a current Tier 5 SSBI favorably adjudicated clearance.
  • At least a High School diploma is required.
  • Experience in conducting Intelligence Community background investigations, including completion of Investigator training in accordance with National Training Standards.
  • A minimum of 3 years of general experience in military, law enforcement, or investigative roles, or 1 year of specialized Federal Background Investigative experience.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle, as driving is a key component of the role.
  • Must maintain adequate motor vehicle insurance, details of which will be provided.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational, scheduling, and prioritization abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate typing skills (40+ WPM recommended) and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Capable of maintaining focus and attention to detail while performing tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone, with a high degree of accuracy in recording and transcribing information.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and integrity in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet quality, timeliness, and production metrics.
  • Willingness to travel locally and beyond the primary work area, with local travel comprising approximately 15-20% of the work week.
  • Opportunities for Temporary Duty Assignments several times a year.
  • Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
