Patient Care Technician/Medical Surgical Full-Time Day Shift

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Medical Surgical team at Texas Health Flower Mound. As a PCT, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities- Aid patients according to their plan of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Collect and report patient data, identifying and communicating significant findings to the nurse.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
- Provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient preferences.
- Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently, taking action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
- Enter orders into the computer or manual system, as applicable.
- Document patient information accurately and appropriately.
- Collaborate with the nurse to adapt care to reflect the patient population, incorporating cultural and religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, anticipating patient and family needs and taking action to meet those needs.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience as a PCT preferred.
- PCT Training Program or equivalent required.
- EMT - Emergency Medical Technician or military experience with medical training equivalent required.
- Nursing student with completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
- 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification.
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
