Responsibilities
  • Dining Duties:
    • Work closely with other kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service
    • Provide excellent customer service to residents, ensuring a positive dining experience
    • Take orders, serve food and drinks, and remove dinnerware in a timely manner
    • Assist with food preparation and cleaning duties
    • Help create and maintain a welcoming dining ambiance for residents
    • Transmit resident food orders to the kitchen and identify special dietary needs and requests
    • Adhere to sanitation and safety requirements in the kitchen and dining room
  • Department Duties:
    • Attend and participate in community mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled
    • Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or necessary
    • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information, including protected health information
    • Maintain a liaison with other department directors to plan for food services and activities
    • Perform all other duties as requested
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • On-the-job training provided; experience in the food industry preferred
  • Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
  • Meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which may include a mental and physical examination
  • Ability to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
