About the Role
Cornell University's Department of Natural Resources and the Environment invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in wildlife research. The successful candidate will join the Fuller Spatial Ecology and Decision Science Lab to contribute to a bat population monitoring project using mobile acoustic survey data.

**Project Overview**
The project is part of the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat) and aims to analyze mobile acoustic survey data from partners in the northeastern United States. The postdoc will work closely with Angela Fuller, U.S. Geological Survey, NY Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, and other collaborators to develop analytical results, data visualizations, and reports for a broad audience.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyze mobile acoustic survey data to estimate bat species abundance and trends
- Evaluate methods for classifying acoustic data and simulate mobile acoustic data to assess statistical power
- Collaborate with state, federal, and non-governmental organizations on regional analysis of mobile acoustic data
- Develop manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and communicate research findings to project PIs and partners

**Requirements**
- PhD in ecology, wildlife biology, conservation biology, natural resources, statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Strong mathematical and programming skills, experience in R and statistical estimation
- Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals and excellent writing and communication skills

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with analysis of acoustic monitoring data and previous experience with bat population ecology
- Familiarity with big data skills, R Shiny App, and machine learning techniques
